Generative Design and KOPE

Overview

In the last four years, KOPE has collaborated with Autodesk's Generative Design Group to enhance the Dynamo and Generative Design experience for users. By thoroughly analysing Dynamo's core application, KOPE identified and resolved performance bottlenecks to boost Dynamo's speed. KOPE also helped implement innovative Dynamo features including the Documentation Browser, which improves comprehension of extensions, nodes, and errors. A major achievement was creating a new modern Dynamo User Interface.

For Generative Design, KOPE developed an improved error-free process that automatically fixes missing packages, notifies about graph problems, and detects and adds absent nodes. Overall, KOPE has teamed up with Autodesk to refine Dynamo, making it more responsive, usable, and streamlined for workflows.

What we did

Over the past four years, KOPE has collaborated with Autodesk's Generative Design Group to enhance the Dynamo and Generative Design user experience. Through extensive profiling and analysis of Dynamo's core application, KOPE identified and helped resolve performance bottlenecks to increase Dynamo's speed. KOPE also assisted with implementing new Dynamo extension features like the Documentation Browser, which improves understanding of Dynamo extensions, nodes, and errors. A major contribution was the development of a new modern Dynamo User Interface.

For the Generative Design extension, KOPE worked on an improved error-free study publishing workflow that automatically resolves missing packages, alerts users to graph issues, and detects and places missing nodes. Overall, through optimisation and new features, KOPE has partnered with Autodesk to make Dynamo more responsive, usable, and understandable. This allows users to more efficiently leverage Dynamo and Generative Design in their workflows.

Results

Through its multi-year alliance with Autodesk's Generative Design division, KOPE has aided in augmenting the Dynamo and Generative Design end-user journey. By streamlining workflows, KOPE has rendered these implements more agile, intuitive, and proficient. Users can now better harness Dynamo and Generative Design courtesy of KOPE's collaboration with Autodesk. This permits enhanced productivity and innovation in design and engineering pipelines.
